Carpenter Training Center Grads Earn Status As Journeymen

The Willamette Carpenters Training Center held its third annual Carpenters Honors Banquet May 1 in Portland to honor graduates, outstanding apprentices and others. The training center is a nonprofit organization that provides education and coordination for the apprenticeship programs of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. Apprentices are working in Oregon, Southwestern Washington and Southern Idaho.

Willamette Carpenters Training Center Director Doug Tweedy said the number of applicants to the program is staying steady, but the quality of applicants has gone up in recent years.
