Commentary: Heads Up: Acai Berry Twitter Attack

You'd better check to make sure you aren't spamming your Twitter followers with links to info on the miracle acai berry. Twitter accounts everywhere have been hacked and are sending out the spammy tweets at a rapid pace, according to Mashable and everyone else. It's being called the fastest spreading attack on Twitter ever. (That's, like, three years!)

The attacks are apparently linked to an attack at Gawker recently in which user commenter accounts were compromised, according to Portland-based ReadWriteWeb. The Twitter spammers were able to creep into the Twitter accounts of people who use the same email and password they use on Gawker. So word to the wise: use different passwords.
