Mayor Tom Potter, former mayor Vera Katz and past and present commissioners on the board of the Portland Development Commission gathered Wednesday to say goodbye to commissioners Eric Parsons and Doug Blomgren.

Parsons served on the PDC board beginning in November 2003 until his three-year term ended this week. He became chairman of the board after the departure of Matt Hennessee in August 2005. Parsons is chief executive of Standard Insurance Co. and StanCorp Financial Group.
