The city of Hillsboro has decided it will not appeal an Oregon Court of Appeals' decision that new zoning surrounding the Hillsboro Airport is unconstitutional.
After implementing new zoning on nearly 7,000 properties in a one- mile radius of the airport in 2009, Washington County resident Miki Barnes appealed the zoning changes to the state Land Use Board of Appeals. Barnes said the zoning violated both federal and state constitutions because it would have allowed the city and the Port of Portland, which owns the airport, easement to a majority of the rezoned properties.See the full content of this document
