After commercial development in Hillsboro had nearly reached a standstill, the creation of a new downtown urban renewal area has the city's economic development department's champing at the bit.
The URA is still relatively young, so money isn't in place for the city to buy land or start projects within its boundaries. But rather than sit idle, the city plans to offer up two lots it already owns in the area, hoping that a developer or two will be interested in joining a public-private partnership.See the full content of this document
