A nearly 150-year-old home near Newburg was hoisted onto a Northwest Structural truck on Thursday to be moved to a new home at Parrett Mountain Farm.
The Henry Parrett House, once renovated, will be the centerpiece of a recreated 1860s farm at Parrett Mountain, which is currently being converted to an interpretive center to educate visitors on the history of Parrett Mountain and its inhabitants. The house was built and occupied by Henry Parrett during the 1860s. At the farm, the home will be surrounded by a barn, smokehouse and outhouse, recreating the feeling of a 19th century family farm. The house will be restored by historic restoration specialist Gregg Olson.See the full content of this document
