With the Oregon Legislature considering a statewide alternative fuels mandate, Los Angeles-based author Josh Tickell visited Portland last week, part of his agenda of spreading biofuels awareness across the country.

Interview with Josh Tickell: Biodiesel America
Tickell hopes to play host to a "huge biodiesel event" in Portland later this year to celebrate the release of his new 90- minute biofuels documentary and draw national attention to the nation's dependence on fossil fuels and the promise of biofuels.
Oregon has a unique role in bringing biofuels to the fore of national politics, he said."Portland is a leader and that message could then go across the country," Tickell said. "It's so important that the people are receptive of people like Al Gore who come with a problem.
