State of Oregon Approves Federal Stimulus Projects

Summary


Contractors will get to work on dozens of new highway projects this summer, thanks to the federal stimulus package. The Oregon Transportation Commission on Friday approved a list of 40 projects that will be under contract by May.

The project list comes to $132.6 million, with most going to safety, preservation, modernization and bridge projects. Approximately $10 million of the total goes to 10 "enhancement" projects that include sidewalks, trails, lighting and crossing improvements.
