Oregon Department of Transportation: Glenn Jackson Bridge Construction Plans Changed

Summary

Officials at the Oregon Department of Transportation announced earlier today that they are changing the construction schedule for the Glenn Jackson Bridge. The bridge spans the Columbia River, connecting Oregon to Washington on Interstate 205.

Construction crews will now close two lanes on the bridge around- the-clock every other weekend to continue replacing the bridge's joints, a $5.2 million project that started almost two months ago. This is opposed to the original construction schedule that closed two lanes on the bridge around-the-clock every weekend. During the off weekends the construction crews will only work nights, closing one lane at 7 p.m. and the other at 10 p.m. Both lanes will reopen the following morning by 10 a.m.
