Port, City of Vancouver Discuss Deal for Humane Society Land

Summary

The Port of Vancouver and the city of Vancouver are in negotiations to exchange land the port owns near Vancouver's Westside Treatment Plant for a parcel of land near the Humane Society of Southwest Washington.

The port has its eye on a 0.966-acre parcel of land at 2141 St. Francis Lane, where it wants to build an additional rail spur. The land is located near the Human Society, which will soon leave its current location at 2121 St. Francis Lane for a new facility in East Vancouver. That property will now revert back to the port, which has reversionary rights to the property.
